Welcome to Pick The Stick. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our website, mobile apps, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Accounts and eligibility
You must provide accurate and current registration information and keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account and must notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.
Pick The Stick is intended for users age 13+. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the Service only with parent or guardian supervision.
2. Acceptable use
You may use the Service only for lawful purposes. You may not attempt to bypass security, scrape or overload infrastructure, automate abusive account creation, or interfere with gameplay or other users. We may suspend or terminate access for violations.
2a. League chat conduct
League chat is powered by Stream.io and is visible to all members of your league. By using league chat you agree to the following rules:
- Keep it respectful — no harassment, hate speech, or personal attacks.
- Stay on topic — league and baseball discussion takes priority.
- No spam, repeated self-promotion, or disruptive posting.
Commissioners may remove messages that violate these rules. Pick The Stick reserves the right to remove any message and to suspend or terminate chat access for repeated or serious violations. Because messages are stored by Stream.io, deleted messages may persist briefly in Stream.io's systems before being removed.
3. Gameplay, scoring, and statistics
Pick The Stick is an entertainment fantasy game. MLB schedules, lineups, scores, and other data come from external feeds and may be delayed, changed, incomplete, or inaccurate. We may modify game rules, scoring, and features at any time.
4. No gambling or monetary prizes
The Service is not a sportsbook, casino, or wagering platform. Unless we publish separate official rules for a specific promotion, we do not offer paid-entry contests, gambling, or cash prizes.
5. User content and intellectual property
You are responsible for content you submit (such as team names or league-related text) and represent that you have rights to submit it. The Service, including its software, branding, and non-user content, is owned by Pick The Stick and its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
6. Notifications and communications
If you opt in, we may send push notifications about league activity. Delivery behavior may reflect your global, per-league, and per-notification-type preferences. You can disable OS-level notification permissions in your device settings at any time.
7. AI-generated content
The Service includes an AI assistant powered by Anthropic's Claude API. AI responses are generated automatically and may be incomplete, incorrect, or outdated. Do not rely on AI-generated content for wagering, financial decisions, or any purpose where accuracy is critical. Pick The Stick is not responsible for decisions made based on AI responses.
8. Third-party services and links
The Service may link to or rely on third-party services and data providers, including Stream.io (league chat) and Anthropic (AI assistant). We do not control third-party content or practices and are not responsible for their availability, accuracy, or policies.
9. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time and may delete your account from in-app settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or otherwise create risk for the Service or users.
10. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Pick The Stick and its affiliates are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, or goodwill arising out of or related to your use of the Service.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by applicable U.S. law and the laws of the state where Pick The Stick operates, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. You are responsible for compliance with laws applicable to your use of the Service.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When changes are material, we will post the revised Terms in the Service (and may provide additional notice where appropriate). Continued use after updates take effect means you accept the revised Terms.
